Sunset Yoga Walden 9/9/19 Winthrop DSU hosted a sunset yoga event to help students unwind while watching the sun fall to usher in the new semester. The event was held on campus green on Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m. and was open to all who wished to unwind as the sunset fell. Ticket prices were $5 for students, faculty and staff, $7 for locals of the Rock Hill area and free for anyone who purchased a DSU Pass. Students joined Cherilyn Heinz, certified yoga instructor, on campus green. The grass was nearly completely covered in the yoga mats of the attendees and DSU provided free water to those of attendence. Photographer Kevin Seabrook said, "The people were very focussed while the instructor spoke and it was really cool, honestly I was surprised at how many people were out there. Winthrop University gets a new club on camps; The Dandelion Project

The Dandelion Project  Tate Walden 8/30/19 Winthrop University is home to nearly 170student orgs. However most of which play off a particular interest such as; Math, Photography, archery. Because of this, students are often left out die to lack of similar interest. This inspired current Sophomore Madeline Chuvalas to found The Dandelion Project club.  Madeline is a IMC Major at Winthrop University. Her goal was to provide an outlet for students to meet new people without having a particular interest. “ Our mission is to provide a place for all students to come together and celebrate kindness, take accountability for our community.”, said Madeline.
